I make this every year for Thanksgiving and they are a big hit. I always make a big batch because everyone always asks for seconds.

  • 5 large
    apples, peeled, cored and diced
  • 4 large
    oranges, peeled and diced
  • 1 c
    brown sugar
  • 3/4 c
    butter crackers, crushed
  • 1/2 c
  • 3 Tbsp
  • 1 tsp
    each cinnamon and baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp
    each nutmeg and ground cloves
  • 1/4 c
    half & half

How to Make Baked Spiced Apples and Oranges


  1. In a large bowl, toss together the apples, oranges and brown sugar. Spread evenly in a 13X9 baking dish
  2. Sprinkle crackers over fruit.
  3. Melt butter in a small saucepan. Wisk in the flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves and baking powder. Drizzle over crackers, then drizzle half & half over that.
  4. Cover with aluminum foil and bake at 325 degrees for 1 hour.
  5. Remove from oven and stir gently to fold in the crust. Serve warm.
