donna's turnip green casserole

My MIL has made this for the last 20 years I've know her. It is really good and is usually only fixed for Thanksgiving and Christmas. Use a good quality brand of turnip greens. Store brands often have lots of hard stems. NOTE: 11/15/12 I have learned that Bush's no longer makes canned greens. I would recommend using frozen greens since Glory brand is sweetened with sugar. I was also told that Walmart sells plain canned greens, but just make sure to remove any excessive stems.

4She has one of those big square Corning Ware casserole dishes she uses. Note 11/15/12 I made this for a work luncheon. It fits in a 8x8 or 9x9 square baking pan. My MIL must have made a doube batch because her dish was much larger.
