I make this for Easter brunch at my mom and dad's house every year, it's always a huge hit!

  • 1 stick
    margarine, melted
  • 1 c
    packed brown sugar
  • 1 tsp
  • 1 1/2 c
  • 5-6 large
  • 12 slice
    texas toast
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla extract
  • 2 pkg
    cream cheese (8 oz. each) softened

How to Make French Toast Casserole


  1. Spread equal portions of the cream cheese on each slice of bread.
  2. Pour melted margarine in a 9X13 baking pan. Sprinkle with brown sugar and cinnamon; stir.
  3. Mix together milk, eggs and vanilla; pour over bread. Cover and refrigerate overnight. Uncover and bake at 375 for 40 minutes.
  4. Serve with maple syrup if desired.
