This was a Christmas favorite when I was a kid. We loved to help Mom roll them in sugar.

    well beaten eggs
  • 1 tsp
  • 1 1/3 c
  • 1 tsp
    baking powder
  • 2 pkg
    (14 ounces each) pitted dates - cup up
  • 1 c
    chopped walnuts
  • ·
    powdered sugar to roll cookies in

How to Make Honey Date Bars


  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Mix honey, eggs and vanilla, beat well. Add sifted dry ingredients, dates and nuts. Spread in greased 13 x 9 x 2 inch pan.
  2. Bake in moderate oven - 350 degrees for about 45 minutes. Cool in pan.
  3. When cool cut in 1 x 3 inch bars and roll in sugar.
