I had this for dinner to night and its just delicious !

I got this recipe and picture off of Taste of home web site , it was posted by a John Smalldridge of Princeton Idaho.

Ingredients

  • 3/4 lb
    beef top round steak ; cut into 1/2" strips
  • 1/4 tsp
    pepper
  • 2 tsp
    canola oil
  • 2/3 c
    condensed cream of chicken soup ; undiluted
  • 1/2 c
    beef broth
  • 4 large
    fresh mushrooms ; sliced
  • 1/4 c
    each ; chopped onion , green pepper , celery
  • DUMPLINGS

  • 1/2 c
    all purpose flour
  • 3/4 tsp
    baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp
    salt
  • 2 Tbsp
    beaten egg
  • 3 Tbsp
    2% milk
  • 1/2 tsp
    dried parsley flakes

How to Make Steak Strips with Dumplings

Step-by-Step

  1. Sprinkle steaks with pepper. In a small skillet , brown steak in oil over med-high heat.
  2. Transfer to a 1-1/2 Qt. slow cooker.
  3. Combine the soup , broth and vegetables and pour over steak.
  4. Cover and cook on low for 4-5 hours.
  5. For dumplings ; in a small bowl , combine the flour , baking powder and salt.
  6. Stir in the egg and milk until blended.
  7. Drop by tablespoonsfuls onto meat mixture . sprinkle with parsley.
  8. Cover and cook on high for 1 hour or until tooth pick inserted in center comes out clean.
    NOTE : do not lift lid while cooking dumplings
