this recipe has been in our family for many years. i got this recipe from my great grandma Smielewski. this is one cookie recipe we make for Christmas, we frost and decorate. if you roll thin they will be crispier cookie but if you roll out thicker it is a nice soft cookie.

    container sour cream
  • 1 c
  • 1 1/2 tsp
    baking soda
  • 1 tsp
  • 1 tsp
    baking powder
  • 1 tsp
  • 6 to 8 c

How to Make great grandma smielewski white cookies


  1. mix sugar, 3 eggs, sour cream, and crisco until blended well. add baking soda, nutmeg, baking powder, and vanilla mix well.
  2. slowing add flour until you can work with your hands. add enough flour so dough is no longer sticky.
  3. roll out to thickness you want. then cut out with cookie cutters. put on cookie sheets and bake in 375 degree oven for about 10 minutes or untill lightly brown.
  4. frost as desired.
