Good Summertime Drink. Here in Louisiana, we are always looking for something good and cold to drink!! This punch is good for children's parties or adults! I made this all summer long for 18 years for my nursing home and assisted living residents. They were always asking, no begging (!), for it! Prepare ahead of time as this needs to freeze for at least 24 hours and needs to sit out of freezer for 2 to 3 hours before serving.

Ingredients For slushy punch

  • 3 c
  • 4 c
  • 1 lg
    or 2 small boxes of jello, any flavor (i prefer strawberry-banana)
  • 2/3 c
    lemon juice
  • 1 lg
    can pineapple juice
  • 2 Tbsp
    almond extract
  • 1 gal
    additional water

How To Make slushy punch

  • 1
    Bring the 3 cups water and 4 cups sugar to boil, let cool.

    Dissolve the Jello in one quart of warm water.
  • 3
    Mix the Jello with the cooled sugar water.
  • 4
    Add lemon juice, pineapple juice and almond extract. Add additional gsllon of water.

    FREEZE in large punch bowl or plastic tub, not jug or bottle. You must be able to scrape it.

    Take out of the freezer at least 2 TO 3 HOURS before serving and crush or scrape with ice pick, fork or dull knife.
