The picture is a bit on the orange side, but it really is pretty RED. I tried to get as close to what the sweet-n-sour sauce at Chinese restaurants tastes like.

Ingredients

  • 1 c
    pineapple juice
  • 2 c
    cider vinegar
  • 1 c
    sugar
  • 2-3 Tbsp
    corn starch (mixed with a little water)
  • ·
    a few drops of red food coloring
  • 1/2 c
    chunk pineapple
  • OPTIONAL

  • ·
    sliced carrots and chunk green pepper

How to Make Sweet and Sour Dipping Sauce

Step-by-Step

  1. Add pineapple juice, vinegar and sugar to pot and bring to boil (stir occationally).
  2. Once boiling, mix in the cornstarch/water mixture until desired thickness is reached.
  3. Add food coloring, mix well then add pineapple.
