    pineapple chunks
  • 1/2 c
    ketchup
  • 3 Tbsp
    cider vinegar
  • 2 Tbsp
    brown sugar
  • 2 tsp
    cornstarch
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp
    soy sauce
  • 1 Tbsp
    vegetable oil
  • 1 lb
    chicken breast, boneless and skinless, cut in chunks
  • 1
    bell pepper, chopped
  • 1 small
    onion, cut into wedges
  • 1 can(s)
    water chestnuts, drained and sliced
  • 1 can(s)
    chow mein noodles

How to Make Festive Sweet and Sour Chicken

Step-by-Step

  1. Drain pineapple; reserve juice.
  2. Combine juice with ketchup, vinegar, brown sugar, cornstarch and soy sauce; stir to blend.
  3. Heat oil in wok or large skillet.
  4. Add chicken; stir fry 3 minutes.
  5. Remove chicken.
  6. Add bell pepper and onion; stir fry 3 minutes.
  7. Add water chestnuts and juice mixture.
  8. Cook, stirring, until boils and thickens.
  9. Add chicken and pineapple; heat through.
  10. Serve over chow mein noodles.
