I got this idea once when we were going to a picnic and my time was really short. I never liked traditional pea salad as it tasted like peas and mayo. I looked in the fridge and added what I had and in about 5 minutes I had a dish that everyone complimented me on. :)

Ingredients

  • 2 pkg
    frozen peas
  • 1 bottle
    hidden valley ranch dressing
  • 1/2 lb
    cooked bacon....crisp
  • 1 pkg
    shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1
    small onion...or onion to taste

How to Make Quick and Tasty Pea Salad

Step-by-Step

  1. Cook bacon till crisp (I use my microwave bacon plate to make prep time quicker)
  2. Add partly thawed peas, ranch dressing, crumbled bacon, cheddar cheese, and chopped onion....then mix
  3. Peas must be only partly thawed as they mix better. If they are to soft they get mushy when mixing.
  4. Let set for about 15 minutes (to thaw peas a little more)...then enjoy.
