Ingredients

  • 12 Tbsp
    butter, unsalted
  • 1
    onion, finely chopped
  • 2
    garlic cloves, minced
  • 1
    bay leaf , crushed
  • 2 c
    ketchup
  • 3/4 c
    cola
  • 1 Tbsp
    worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp
    dijon mustard
  • 2 tsp
    wine vinegar
  • pinch
    salt
  • pinch
    pepper

How to Make Cola Barbecue Sauce

Step-by-Step

  1. Melt butter in medium saucepan over medium-low heat; add onions and cook 1 minute.
  2. Add garlic and cook 4 minutes longer - Do not brown.
  3. Stir in remaining ingredients.
  4. Heat to boiling; reduce heat and simmer, uncovered, stirring occasionally, 1 hour.
  5. Brush on chicken during final 10 to 15 minutes of grilling. Makes 1 1/2 cups.
