I've never had chutney before but I think that this along with some of the others I'm gonna post would go great with anything you might make.

Serves:
3 pint jars

Ingredients

  • 6 c
    chopped and peeled apples
  • 1 c
    raisins
  • 1/2 c
    pitted chopped dates
  • 1 c
    minced onions
  • 2 clove
    garlic,minced
  • 1/2 tsp
    crushed red pepper
  • 2 oz
    preserved ginger,chopped
  • 2 tsp
    salt
  • 1/2 tsp
    cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp
    ground cloves
  • 2 1/4 c
    packed brown sugar
  • 2 c
    cider vinegar

How to Make Apple Chutney

Step-by-Step

  1. Combine all the ingredients in a large stainless steel saucepan. Bring to a boil and simmer uncovered until thickened, about 3 hours. Stir occasionally/
  2. Pour into clean jars to within 1/2 inch of the top. Cap and process in a hot water bath for 5 minutes.
