Ingredients For texas beef skillet

  • 2 C. Frozen Ground Meat Mix*
  • 1/2 C. Water
  • 16 oz. Can tomatoes (cut up)
  • 15 1/2 oz. Can red kidney beans
  • 1/2 C. Quick cooking rice
  • 3 Tbsp. Chopped green pepper
  • 1 1/2 tsp. Chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp. Salt
  • 1/2 tsp. Garlic salt
  • 3 oz. American, cheddar, or Monterey Jack cheese
  • Corn chips (or tortilla chips) crushed

How To Make texas beef skillet

    In a skillet, combine frozen Ground Meat Mix*,and water. Cover and cook over low heat for 15 minutes; break up meat mixture with a fork. Stir in undrained tomatoes, undrained kidney beans, rice, chopped green pepper, chili powder, salt, and garlic salt. Bring mixture to boiling; reduce heat. Cover and simmer for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally. Meanwhile, shred cheese; sprinkle over meat mixture. Cover and heat about 3 minutes more or until cheese melts. Sprinkle crushed corn or tortilla chips around the edge. Serve immediately. *Ground Meat Mix recipe located in this program
