Ingredients For classic 7 layer salad

1 mdhead lettuce, shredded

1/2 cgreen bell pepper, chopped

1/2 cred bell pepper, chopped

1/2 cgreen onion, chopped

1/2 ccelery, chopped

1 pkg(10 ounce) frozen green peas, partially thawed and uncooked

1 cmayonnaise
-
3 Tbspgranulated sugar
-
2 cshredded cheddar cheese
-
cooked, crumbled bacon or bacon bits, if desired
How To Make classic 7 layer salad

1In a clear glass or trifle bowl, add ingredients in layers as follows: 1. lettuce 2. green and red pepper 3. green onion 4. celery 5. peas 6. Stir together mayonnaise and sugar. Dot over salad and spread carefully over top to cover. 7. Top with grated cheese and bacon bits (optional). Refrigerate for at least 1 hour before serving.
