my brother-in-law made this recipe one year for christmas and we all loved it. Now it's just a given for us to have it for thanksgiving and christmas. it's almost a meal in itself.

Ingredients For apple stuffing

1 bagpepperidge farm stuffing mix (original)

1 pkgjimmy dean sausage
-
1/2 - 1 lbshitake mushrooms
-
3 lggranny smith apples (chopped)

3 stickcelery (chopped)
-
1/2onion (diced)

1 stickbutter, melted
-
2 canchicken broth, low salt
How To Make apple stuffing

1Preheat oven to 325 degrees F. Lightly grease a 9 x 13 baking dish. Sauté onion and celery with sausage until soft. Add chopped mushrooms and apples. Mix together with Pepperridge Farm stuffing mix in a large bowl and add 2 cans of chicken broth and 1 stick of melted butter. If stuffing seems dry, you can add 1 more can of chicken broth. Pour Stuffing mixture into baking dish and bake for 45 minutes to an hour or until the top is brown and crisp
