Spoon this umami-rich compound butter over your favorite steak as it rests.

Ingredients For anchovy butter

  • 1/2 c
    unsalted butter, softened
  • 4 clove
    garlic, minced
  • 8
    anchovies, packed in oil, drained and minced
  • 1/2 tsp
    hot paprika
  • 1/2 tsp
    fresh lemon juice
  • kosher salt, to taste

How To Make anchovy butter

    Combine all ingredients in a medium bowl.

    Mix with a fork until smooth and spread on steak. Or transfer to waxed paper, roll into a cylinder, chill, and slice.
