These dumplings are terrific serve with their broth over kibble. They look great formed by hand into lovely symmetrical balls, but your pet will enjoy them just a much if you drop teaspoons of the dumpling mixture directly into the stock.Source unknown

Ingredients For dog dumplings (for your pooch)

  • 2 tbsp. unsalted butter
  • 1 onion,finely chopped
  • 1 tbsp. chopped italian parsley
  • 2 cups finely chopped beef or chicken livers
  • 1/4 tsp. marjoram
  • salt
  • freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 cup dried bread crumbs
  • 1/2 cup hot water
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • chicken stock or broth

How To Make dog dumplings (for your pooch)

    Melt butter in skillet over medium heat. Add onion and parsley and sauté 5 minutes longer, stirring often. Scrape mixture into a mixing bowl.

    In small bowl, moisten bread crumbs with about 1/2 cup hot tap water or enough to make a paste. Work bread crumb mixture into liver and vegetables. Add egg, mix well, and cover. Allow mixture to firm up 30 minutes.

    Moisten your hands and form dumpling mixture into balls about 1 inch in diameter, or drop dumplings by teaspoons into about 2 1/2 quarts boiling stock or broth and cook, uncovered, 30 minutes. makes about 36 dumplings
