this recipe I used when my son was training with the STV BlackJack. I was the cook and it was my job to cook for the kids and crew. Feeding about 10-20 teens and adults can be a challenge- there were never any leftovers and always requests to make this again. Very filling and great when served with fresh bread or buns. and like the name says-NO Peeking!

How To Make no peek stew

  • 1
make sure that the celery is washed, then chopped- I added this as an extra- because I like celery.
  • 2
place the rest of the ingredients in a 2 1/2 quart casserole dish in order given
  • 3
Bake at 300*F for 3 hours.Do not peek! Let stand for 15 minutes.
  • 4
Serve on a bed of rice- I like brown rice the best with wild rice added. You can easily double the recipe-but remember to increase the size of your casserole dish.I haven't tried this yet in a slow cooker but would imagine that it could be done
