This recipe came out of my Betty Crockers Cooky Cookbook. This cookie was a big hit at the Farmer's Market. Historical note. 1902 Fannie Farmer opened her cooking school in Boston 1906 Pure Food and Drug Act passed by Congress.

Ingredients For oatmeal drop cookies

1/2 cshortening

1 1/4 csugar

2eggs
-
1/3 cmolasses

1 3/4 cflour

1 tspbaking soda

1 tspsalt

1 tspcinnamon

2 crolled oats
-
1/2 cchopped nuts

1 craisins
How To Make oatmeal drop cookies

1Heat oven to 400 degrees. Mix shortening, sugar, eggs, and molasses thoroughly. Swift together dry ingredients, add to shortening mixture mix well. Blend in oats, nuts and raisins.

2Drop dough by rounded teaspoons onto lightly greased cookie sheet, about 2 inches apart. Bake 8-10 minutes or until lightly browned.
