My brother-in-law has been begging for Mom's recipes since her death. Now that I am retired, I decided to share her recipes with more than just family. All her recipes were filled with love and an extra measure of God's blessings. I hope you find this as flavorful as we have.

Ingredients For norma's chocolate chip cookies

3/4 cbutter flavor shortening

1 1/4 cbrown sugar, firmly packed

2 Tbspvanilla

1egg
-
1 3/4 call purpose flour

1 tspsalt

3/4 tspbaking soda
-
1 csemi-sweet chocolate chips

1 cpecans, in pieces (optional)
How To Make norma's chocolate chip cookies

1Heat oven tof 375F. Cream butter flavored shortening, brown sugar, milk, and vanilla in large bowl.

2Blend until creamy.

3Blend in egg. Combine flour, salt, and baking soda. Add to creamed mixture, gradually.

4Stir in chocolate chips and nuts.

5Drop rounded measuring tablesdpoonfuls of dough 3 inches apart on ungreased baking sheet.

6Bake at 375F for 8 - 10 minutes (5 minutes longer for chrisp cookies)

7Cool 2 minutes before removing from the baking sheet.

8Makes 3 dozen.
