This rice cooker was a gift from my children when they were teenagers. I frequently cooked Chinese recipes. They pooled their money, went to our local Chinatown and bought this cooker for me for a Christmas gift. It was very appropriate for me and I loved it. It has been in regular use for 35 years now and still going strong. Sometimes I admire the new rice cookers with many settings but I my heart is still with my special gift. It
