Faye, when I use the jam as a glaze I just add a little water and melt the water and jelly in the microwave. Depending on how much glaze you want, start with a cup of jelly and 2 teaspoons of water. If you think it is too thick add a small amount of water and stir. Too thick -well, now I'm stating the obvious - add a spoonful or so more jelly and stir. To be honest, I never measured the amounts;I just eyeball it and keep mixing until I get the right consistency.

Just noticed someone mentioned using cayenne peppers. These are really hot and from my experiene, if I used it at all, I would only use a little.
I have made a similar recipe just using red and green bell peppers which
my family liked a lot. I have also made it with just a little jalapeno which is hot enough for us. I have not tried it as a ham glaze but I want to. How do it do this - just brush it on as it comes out of the jar or do you add something to it? Also, has anyone tried using it in a cheese ball or making a dip? Thanks. Faye

I like to use it on grilled chicken. I get strips of chicken breasts, marinate them in hot sauce for a few hours, put them on pre-soaked wooden skewers and bake them. I melt the jelly in the microwave w/ a little water and put the skewered chicken on the grill. While the chicken is charring on the grill I baste it with the melted jelly.
Also good with cocktail meatballs, or Hawaiin chicken and pineapple kabobs. This pepper jelly is indispensible for appetitzers! Love it!
