This recipe was so simple, yet tastes fantastic! I used Macintosh for the first batch and it was sooooo wonderful, I wanted to try other types of apples to see if the taste was different. I used Jonathan, Ambrosia and Granny Smiths. The taste for each was different but still wonderful! I am going to decorate the jars and give this away for the holidays! Thank you for sharing this recipe!

I would say about 10 apples if they are large, I always buy mine in the 5 lb bag and add about 6 or so depending on the size to make the 1/2 lb :-)

I am very excited to try this recipe!!! I am almost embarrassed to ask, but about how many apples is 5 1/2 pounds? I just went apple picking so I have a lot fresh apples, but I am not sure of the pounds.

Thanks!!!!
