This is how the beans looked just before putting them in the crock pot. YUMMY!!! The BEST!!! 9/19/12 Dated them yesterday because that's when I made them.
Baked Beans, Aldine Hotel Style in front, creamy corn (left over from making the cornbread), grilled pork chop, Peggi's Tator Salad and Southern Cornbread. 9/07/12
To the reserved liquid from the beans I added the 1 cup sugar, 3/4 of a medium onion, 1/2 lb bacon, 1/2 tsp pepper and 1 Tablespoon white vinegar. Mixed well and poured over the beans. Now they are ready for the oven. 9/07/12
Drained one 15.5oz can of northern beans in the strainer over a bowl on the left side of this picture then put them in my 9X9 pan on the right. I used half a recipe! 9/07/12
