if your pan looks similar to this one (which is extremely bad) you need to reseason it so you can use it again

melting the fat will begin the process -- but cooling it down afterwards is what makes it non-stick again.

a well seasoned pan looks pretty much like this -- but having found this on the internet it is almost TOO perfect (LOL) but it is that gloss that makes it non-stick
