I sprayed mine first with the urethane and IF it warms up a bit for me to put it outside I will then put a coat of the liquid on it. Not sure how the candy will hold up with the liquid on first. It may run...

The shape kind or reminds me of a birdhouse. Maybe I should have cut a hole in it and put it in a sheltered place on the deck to see if anything built in it. Coating it in urethane would probably keep it from disintegrating.
