Tana, if the seafood market shucks their own oysters they will give you the shells for free. If you don't the shells then you can put them on a plate and drizzle the garlic butter over them. The presentation is cute but not necessary - if you find something really cool at Pier 1 let me know. Also, you can check online. I can't wait to hear how they come out for you.

Donna, I live in East Tennessee, but there is a seafood market about 35 minutes from my house that gets fresh seafood from Louisiana weekly so hoping I can get my hands on fresh oysters! Even if they are already shelled, I thought I might check out Pier One Imports to see if they have some small shells I can "substitute" for oyster shells and give it a whirl. It probably won't be until next month but I will let you know outcome!

Thank you Tana, if you love fried oysters then this just makes them that much better! I hope you'll let me know how they turn out when you make them.

Donna, this recipe sounds incredible. I'm from Charleston, SC, and miss easy access to fresh oysters! If can get some shipped to me (I live in East Tennessee now), I'm definitely going to prepare a batch with your recipe!
