I used this recipe from Diane for the fondant.
Chocolate Cupcakes with Peanut Butter Filling
It worked the first time and every time. she has three recipes on this recipe card. I used only the fondant recipe, then use your recipe for the rest and simply roll it out and apply after you iced your cake. here is the one I did

It is simply marshmallow fondant and orange coloring it is easily put over your icing and smoothed down then cut a few lines in it and add some fresh parsley at the tip. if you start with a tapered cake piece it is easy.
