My husband saw one of these kitchen work centers, and he said I can build one for less and better! He sure did, I love my rolling work station. It holds appliances inside, has two drawers and is sturdy with a maple top.
A dear friend, Bert, made this rolling pin, and it's useful as well as beautiful. I love to display my favorite things. The cutting board is from a favorite vacation place, where Morning Glories grow everywhere like a weed. I love them!
My husband got me this cabinet last Christmas, and it only took 10 minutes to fill it up - and that was just repostitioning things I already had! Now I could use another one, but no more room!
My husband as well has made me new kitchen cabinets and they matched the ones I had ~ he also loves to make things from wood, he built a 20x20 addition to our house as well ~ We have had the whole kitchen redone and ordered new cabinets now but we are sure lucky huh Beth? Fix it all husbands.
Thanks Carol! He became quite a fine woodworker, and has built about seven other pieces for me. His career as a builder included custom houses, and kitchen cabinets were among his many favorites. I have the first kitchen he built and the house was his learning experience when he was just starting as a carpenter when he was in his late twenties. He built a small boat, and carved shore birds, and made fishing lures. Besides being very mechanical. It's amazing to me what talent he possessed. Now his eyesight isn't the best, so he gave up doing the fine work, although he can still fix things and distance vision is good.
