Our Grandma Alvina Brown Was a very Good Cook, She made the Best Butter tarts next to My Mother Mary Ida, Whom also made the melt in your mouth tarts. My Mother always swore that the Crusts secret was the Lard & Butter in the crusts.
They Both always used raisins in them. The One pictured above is without raisins. They are a LONG TIME "Family favorite" Sent down 3 Generations or More that I know of for Sure.
