I made this today and it didn't look anything like this. I wonder if the directions were altered after I printed it out. It was dry and dark in color. I put the extra brown sugar in the batter because I was confused by the directions. I'm so sad because it took me all day to make it and the ingredients cost a lot. It tasted like a dry spice cake with weird tasting pecans with the zest in them. Yours is beautiful and what I had hoped for! I'm discouraged with baking from scratch. It never seems to turn out right and things you can buy taste better, lol. Congratulations on your gorgeous cake!
