There is an amish community in Sarasota, FL...someone on JAP told me about it. Have never heard of it before. Would love to go there sometime.... 5/17/12

My Pampered Chef bottle of Dill Mix has...dill weed, garlic, onion, herbs & spices (no salt, sugar or preservatives added) listed on there.

We don't have a Amish Pantry here is our town either...I can drive 35 minutes East to one, 45 minutes North to or 50 minutes West to one. Believe me "I've made them alllllllll"...love getting fresh items at their pantries.

Dill, garlic and onion... That's what is in Pampered Chef's "All-Purpose Dill Mix"....just looked it up online. 5/17/12 (salt-free combination of dill, garlic and onion).

I get mine at the Amish Pantry....no name on them, just says Dried Cherry's.

The Pampered Chef makes one called "All-Purpose Dill Mix"....but I also get it at the Amish Pantry (they just call it "Dill Weed").

Hey sis,
I already have craisins as I bought them for this recipe....so if I am supposed to add them to this salad I will.
What brand of dried cherries do YOU buy?
I know people who put small chunks of apple in their chicken salad but I had never heard of anyone grating apple into their chicken salad...until you...but it sounds like a 'grate' idea!
With only one can of chicken I didn't think it would make "a whole bunch" lol....I'm glad as I'd rather make something more often than have leftovers for ever. I think I need to find someone who likes chicken salad and share it with them. 5/17/12

Well Sis, this one doesn't make a whole bunch.
I really like putting the dried cherries in better than the craisins.

Although I do like and eat both...I just love the tase of the plump cherries (even though they are dried like the craisins they are plumped more...anyway the brand I buy is).

And when I have a Granny Smith apple I like to grate it up into the chicken salad (and tuna salads too).

Don't you mean WHEN I make it, take a pic. hahahahaha
Well, I could die before I get to it, I guess...
You know I'll be eating on the one I made yesterday
for some time as it really made a huge bowl full.
Wish I knew someone who would like to have some of it.
I'd gladly share it with them.
My hubby doesn't like cranberries (well, neither do I) so if he knew that there were craisins in it, he wouldn't even try it. I almost made it without the craisins because I didn't think I would like them; but when I make a recipe the first time I like to make it as written...so I put the craisins in the salad...and, boy, are they good! I even had some right out of the bag and enjoyed them. Surprised myself!! LOL
Anyway, I will try this recipe, I just don't know how soon...and I WILL take PICS!!! LOL 5/17/12
