I live in Southwest New Mexico, 30 miles north of the Mexican border, on the SWNM High Desert. Our elevation is 5,000 feet. I collect what I call "desert pine cones" as pine trees grow well here. As a cook, I started in fourth grade! And have been cooking ever since. My first cooking was making oatmeal cookies. My next "big hit" was Tuna Tugboats (from the electric co. demonstration lady)... putting your tuna salad on a slice of bread, topping it with cheese and baking in the oven (or toaster oven) until the cheese melts and the tuna salad is warmed through! The whole family loved these!
