Sometimes I add a bit of thyme, garlic and minced onion....even have added a tablespoon of red wine vinegar..........purred carrots......

This is great as is or as a starter!

Ingredients

3 c
water
2 c
diced tomatoes, may use canned...undrained.
2 c
tomatoe sauce, canned(or 15 can)
2 Tbsp
minced dried onion
2 Tbsp
fresh basil or 1 tsp dried basil
1 1/2 tsp
beef bouillon
1 Tbsp
sugar

Step-By-Step

11 In large saucepan, combine water, undrained tomatoes, tomato sauce, dried onion, dried basil (if using), and beef bouillon .
2Bring to boiling; reduce heat. Simmer, covered, for 20 minutes.
3Stir in sugar and fresh basil. Serve hot.
4Garnish with a bit of sour cream or grated cheese or basil.
