Dear Daughter's Granola Bars

My daughter took home economics this year. I told her it wouldn't hurt her..So, she brings home from school this plate of granola's and says " Mom you have to try these". Well, I will be the first to admit, I DO NOT LIKE GRANOLA! Especially the hard, break a tooth kind..LOL..so I tried a bite, needless to say one bite led to another..these were surprisingly very good. I told her to bring home the recipe, and here it is. It's chewy, not hard,and I think delicious.

When she makes it again, I will provide a pic.

Ingredients

1/2 c
butter
1 tsp
vanilla
2 Tbsp
corn syrup or honey
1/4 c
brown sugar
2 tsp
cinnamon
1
egg,beaten
2 c
rolled oats
1/2 c
crushed shredded wheat
1/4 c
whole wheat flour
1/2 c
chopped almonds
2/3 c
shredded coconut
1/2 c
golden raisins
1
apple, pared and diced

Directions Step-By-Step

In large saucepan, melt butter.

Add vanilla, corn syrup, brown sugar, and cinnamon; mix well. Add beaten egg, stir until thoroughly blended. Stir in remaining ingredients.

Spread in a 9x9 greased pan.

Bake at 350 for 20 minutes, just until lightly golden around edges.

Cut into bars.
