head of cabbage
1 pkg
12 oz bacon save grease
1 large
onion sliced in rings
1/4 c
vegetable oil
1/4 c
distilled vinegar
salt and pepper to taste

Directions Step-By-Step

cut up cabbage, slice onions. then in a dutch oven, fry bacon till crisp and save. add oil to the grease and add cabbage and onions and fry up tossing and turning every so often till it cooks down till clear and brownish. about 1 hour. then add the vinegar, salt and pepper and bacon allow to cook another 10 minutes or so.
