This recipe comes from Tyler Florence of Food Network, and I made it to accompany my prime Rib of Beef, and my husband really enjoyed them because he had at least 2 or 3 halves of it, he said it really went well with the beef. This was my first time making this recipe, but I can guarantee you that it will not be my last. The caramalized onions with the honey butter and thyme, really does combine the flavors very well. It is such a simple recipe too. So I am sure you will enjoy it as well.
1PREHEAT OVEN TO 350 DEGREES F. Spray a 1/2 cup measure with non stick cooking spray, and then fill with honey. Pour into a small sauce pan then add butter, thyme, balsamic vinegar, and salt and pepper, then bring to a boil, and let simmer for 1 minute or so till it reduces somewhat.
2Spray a small casserole dish with non stick cooking spray, add onion halves cut side up & in a single layer, and then drizzle honey mixture over onions. Place in preheated 350 degree oven and bake for 45 minutes or until onions are soft and slightly caramalized. Should make about 6 servings.
