Cut the broccoli into florets. Add to boiling salted water for 4 or 5 minutes, till just done and still bright green. (You could add a pinch of sugar to the water if you wanted to.)
Drain into colander and return to pan; add melted butter to pan and slish around till broc is coated.
On each serving: squeeze with fresh lemon, sprinkle with parmesan, and serve with a spoonful of mayo on the side.
