Green Beans With Toasted Almonds ~ Nice Side Dish

- 1 1/4 lb
- fresh green beans
- 1/4 c
- sliced almonds
1Place 1" of water and beans in a 3 quart saucepan.
Bring to boil on medium-high heat then reduce to medium. Cover, cook until beans are crisp-tender. Around 6-10 minutes. Drain
2Melt butter in heavy skillet over medium-high heat. Add almonds and cook and stir until almonds are golden brown around one to two minutes.
3Remove from heat and stir in beans. Season with salt and pepper.
A member Nancy made a suggestion to cook the beans in bacon drippings and sprinkle lemon zest on them.
