Dilly Cucumbers Braised in Fry Pan

- cucumbers, peeled or stripped and sliced to 1/8-inch thickness
- 3/4 tsp

- white pepper
- minced fresh dill to taste
1Sprinkle cukes with salt; stir well and let stand 30 minutes.
Drain in colander; do not press out liquid -just drain.
2In a 10-inch skillet melt butter; add cukes and pepper; stir well.
Cook, covered over moderate heat and stirring several times, just until cukes are at the crunchy tenderness you prefer I like about 3-5 minutes. Stir in dill.
