Ingredients

3 c
cooking oil
1 c
all purpose flour
1 tsp
baking powder
1 tsp
salt
1/4 tsp
cayenne pepper
1 c
buttermilk
1 large
egg,
2 c
panko bread crumbs
1 large
onion , cut into 1/2 in. slices separted in rings

Step-By-Step

1In a soup pot over medium heat,heat oil until hot but not smoking.About 350* or you can use a fry daddy
2meanwhile in a med.bowl combine flour,baking powder,salt,and cayene pepper.Whisk in buttermilk and egg.Place breadcrumbs in a shallow dish.
3Dip onion rings into batter then into bread crumbs, until evenly coated on all sides.Place rings in hot oil and cook 2 to 3 minutes or until golden brown,turning once.
Remove to a paper towel lined platter.Repeat with remaining onion slices.Serve immediately.
4If desired ,sprinkle with salt before serving.Serve with your favorite dipping sauce..
