Saw this recipes on the back of a ketchup bottle and thought it sounded really different from your normal smashed potatoes. I love new ways to prepare spuds!

Ingredients

2 medium
onions, peeled and chopped in 1-inch pieces
1/2 c
heinz tomato ketchup
1 Tbsp
vegetable oil
2 tsp
chili powder
1 tsp
worcestershire sauce
1 pkg
ore-ida steam n' mash cut russet potatoes
2 c
shredded very sharp cheddar cheese
salt and pepper to taste

Directions Step-By-Step

Toss the onions with the ketchup, vegetable oil, chili powder, and Worcestershire sauce. In a medium skillet, cook for 10 to 12 minutes or until softened.

Meanwhile, prepare potatoes according to package directions

Combine the cheese and onions into potatoes using a potato masher. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
