Leah's Notes:

This is a recipe I developed at the last minute I decided I needed an extra condiment for a BBQ. It was exciting to hear the compliments! Although the mustard seeds do need to soak several hours, it is very easy.

I also serve the Grainy Beer Mustard with Corned Beef and on Pastrami & Rye sandwiches. Add a tablespoon to the dressing for Hot Potato Salad or use as a Pretzel Dip.

Directions

1
Soak the mustard seeds in the beer, overnight.
2
Whisk the beer, mustard seeds, vinegar and onions into the dry ingredients until blended.
3
Cook over medium-high heat, whisking constantly, until it comes to a boil and thickens slightly.
4
Cool to room temperature. Refrigerate in a covered container.

Hey Lea, I've made mustard once before but my recipe that I found is way diffnt. It says to soak yellow seeds,1# for 2 wks in cider vinegar & a lil sugar. Well I made it twice now & its not the greatest! I was hoping to copy Inglehoffer stone grnd. I see you cook yours? I dint do that. Yours sounds soo good, I make alot of sausages that are good w/mustard. Just trying to perfect my eating! Give me a shout if u will,,thanks

This mustard should pair very well with your sausages. If you try it, let me know how you like it. For a large gathering I usually double the recipe.
