This tuna salad recipe was given to me by a local restaurateur. I loved his version so much that he relented and gave me the recipe.

Ingredients

2 can(s)
(5 oz. ea.) solid white albacore tuna
1/3 c
finely chopped celery hearts
1/2 c
hellman's real mayonnaise
1/4 c
finely chopped onion or 1 tbsp. minced onion
1 tsp
real lemon juice
1/3 c
chopped walnuts

Step-By-Step

Step 1 Direction Photo

1In a medium size bowl, combine the tuna with the mayonnaise (do NOT use Miracle Whip--it won't taste the same). Mix well, breaking up chunks of tuna.

2Fold in celery, onion, and lemon juice until well blended.

3Add walnuts and toss. Serve on thick slices of rye or pumpernickel.

4If I'm only making this for myself I cut the recipe in half. It can easily be halved, doubled, or tripled for more people.
