HEY EVERYONE I CAME ACROSS THIS HAND MADE ORNAMENT THAT YOU CAN MAKE WITH YOUR CHILDREN OR GRANDCHILDREN.IT IS SO EASY TO MAKE I HOPE THAT YOU ENJOY THIS RECIPE FOR MANY YEARS TO COME.

Ingredients

TO MAKE:
1/2 c
salt
1/2 c
plain flour
1/4 c
water ( give or take )
1-2 tsp
any tempra paint or any color of food coloring that you want your dough

Directions Step-By-Step

Knead until dough forms

Make impression and cut out hand shape with a knife leaving a border.

Poke a hole in the top for hanging.

Bake at 100 - 200* for 3 hours.

Paint seal and ready to hang.

This might help some of those that are asking about painting and sealing, the directions appear to sound like you paint and seal after baking, these directions can be done after baking - Decorate with poster paints or tube paints. Allow to dry and spray with clear polyurethane on both sides to preserve.

so do you paint it before you put it in the oven while the dough is still wet?

Lacy, The paint will seal as it is in the oven temp. 200-300* ,that should do it ...Enjoy....

How long does it need to be in the oven to seal? Does it depend on paint?

Lacy, After you paint it it goes in the oven that seals it...
