This is my third fish sandwich... HEY, I like fish sandwiches. This is a simple fish burger with a lot of comfy flavor. You want your fish and ingredients to be the freshest possible. Then serve it up on a nice soft bun with some great sauce or spread. I’ve got a great spread that I’ll talk about later, but you might have your own personal favorite. So, you ready… Let’s get into the kitchen.

Ingredients For sandwich essentials: easy/peasy fish burger

  • PLAN/PURCHASE
  • 4 oz
    cod, haddock, or halibut filet
  • 1 Tbsp
    lemon juice, freshly squeezed
  • 2 Tbsp
    flour, all purpose variety
  • 1/2 tsp
    fresh dill, chopped
  • 1/2 tsp
    fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 pinch
    paprika, sweet or hot, your choice
  • salt, kosher variety, to taste
  • 2 Tbsp
    grapeseed oil
  • ADDITIONAL ITEMS
  • fresh lettuce
  • fresh tomato
  • fresh soft burger bun
  • your favorite sauce/spread for the fish

How To Make sandwich essentials: easy/peasy fish burger

    PREP/PREPARE

    Gather Your Ingredients (mise en place).

    Place the filet on a shallow plate, cover with the lemon juice, and allow it to rest for 10 minutes.

    Mix the flour, dill, parsley, paprika, and salt together in a shallow dish or pie plate.

    Add the grapeseed oil to a sauté pan over medium-high heat.

    Dredge the filet in the flour mixture, and add to the hot skillet.

    Cook about 2 minutes per side, or until golden brown.

    PLATE/PRESENT

    Add your favorite spread/sauce to the bottom of a nice firm burger bun.

    Lay the filet on top.

    Add some lettuce and tomato.

    Add a bit more sauce to the top bun, cover and serve with some chips. Enjoy.
