This gnocchi recipe is delicious, savory, and melt in your mouth AWESOME!! If you make the gnocchi from scratch like my Nonna always did, it is even more OUTSTANDING!! If you use fresh ingredients from your garden as well - you are in for one of the GREATEST treats ever!

Ingredients For cheesy, tomato, pea, and bacon gnocchi

  • 1 - 16 oz
    (pkg.) gnocchi (such as gia russa)
  • 1 c
    frozen green peas
  • 4 slice
    bacon, chopped
  • 1/2 c
    chopped green onions
  • 3 clove
    garlic, minced
  • 1 c
    grape tomatoes
  • 3 Tbsp
    butter
  • 1/4 tsp
    freshly ground black pepper
  • 4 Tbsp
    parmesan or romano cheese, grated
  • 2 Tbsp
    fresh basil, julienned

How To Make cheesy, tomato, pea, and bacon gnocchi

    Bring a large saucepan filled with salted water (should taste like the ocean) to a boil over high heat.

    Add Gnocchi; cook 2 to 3 minutes or until gnocchi float to the surface. Add peas; cook 1 minute more. Drain in a colander over a bowl, reserving 1/3 cup cooking liquid.

    Cook bacon in a large skillet over medium-high heat 5 minutes or until crisp. Remove bacon from the pan with a slotted spoon. Add onions and garlic to drippings in pan; cook 4 minutes, stirring occasionally.

    Add tomatoes; cook 5 minutes or until slightly broken down, stirring occasionally. Add reserved 1/3 cup cooking liquid and butter; simmer 2 minutes. Add gnocchi mixture to pan; toss to coat. Stir in bacon and pepper. Sprinkle with cheese and basil.
