Beans, beans and beef

I created this using ingredients that I like and that my family enjoys. We have a family member that has a severe gluten sensitivity.
You can make it gluten free by using tamari instead of soy sauce, check your barbeque sauce ingredients for wheat products, and check your baked bean can for wheat-free ingredients.

Stove Top

Ingredients

1 c
chopped onions
1 lb
ground beef
1 tsp
mustard, ground or prepared mustard
1/4 c
soy sauce or tamari
19 oz. can(s)
diced tomatoes
1/2 can(s)
water
15 oz
can baked beans, undrained
19 oz
can kidney beans, drained
1/2 c
barbeque sauce
1 c
cole slaw mix or shredded cabbage
1
carrot, shredded
salt to taste (won't need much)

Step-By-Step

1Sweat onions in one tablespoon of oil. Break up ground beef and add to onions to brown the meat.
2Add mustard and soy sauce and stir into mixture. Add tomatoes, water, cabbage and carrot and stir.
3Add beans and barbecue sauce. Combine and simmer for about 30 minutes until vegetables are tender.
Taste for seasoning. Probably won't need much salt - if any- because the barbecue sauce, soy sauce and baked beans have salt.
4Serving suggestions:
Serve with rice or noodles; top with grated cheese or sour cream; sprinkle with chopped parsley for freshness and colour.
