Healthy Burbon Chicken

This taste just like the burbon chicken you get at mall food courts...but much healthier.

*Serving Tips:Serve over hot brown rice or Bulgar and ENJOY. Great with steamed brocolli.

Stove Top

Ingredients

1 1/2 lb
boneless chicken breasts , cut into bite-size pieces
1-2 Tbsp
olive oil (i used one tbsp.)
1 clove
garlic, crushed
1 tsp
ginger
3/4 tsp
crushed red pepper flakes
1/4 c
unsweetened apple sauce
1/3 c
light brown sugar (i used plain splenda)
2 Tbsp
ketchup
1 Tbsp
cider vinegar
1/2 c
water
1/3 c
soy sauce
1 small
red bell pepper, diced
1 small
onion, diced

Directions Step-By-Step

Heat oil in a large skillet.

Add chicken pieces w/ pepper & onion and cook until lightly browned. Remove chicken.

Add remaining ingredients, heating over medium Heat until well mixed and dissolved. Add chicken and bring to a hard boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 20 minutes.
