Nana's Chicken Tortilla Casserole

This casserole is so amazing for chilly fall and winter days, or as a potluck dish. My mother gave me this recipe when i moved into my first college apartment.

Ingredients

1/4 c
butter or margarine
1 medium
green bell pepper
1 medium
onion
1 can(s)
cream of mushroom soup
1 can(s)
cream of chicken soup
2 can(s)
diced ro-tel
2 c
chopped cooked chicken

corn tortillas, torn into pieces
2 c
shredded cheddar cheese

Step-By-Step

1Preheat oven to 325

2In a large saucepan, cook pepper and onion in butter until tender. add soups, ro-tel, and chicken, stirring until well blended.

3Alternate layering tortillas, soup mixture, and cheese. repeat for three layers in 13x9 baking dish.

4Bake 40 minutes Should be hot throughout and bubbling in the middle.
